Wacom's Inkling Takes Digital Art Up A Notch
Wacom has taken digital art to another level with its latest product, the Inkling. The digital sketch pen allows users to draw or write on any sketchbook or piece of paper while capturing a digital likeness of it, Ubergizmo reported Tuesday.
Users can capture their sketch stroke by stroke, create layers in digital files then refine their work on a computer later. The receiver is able to store hundreds of sketches, so draw to your heart's content.
From Ubergizmo.com:
Designed for people who need the feel of real paper and need to see their drawings on paper instead of just on-screen, the Inkling is a specially designed pen that gives users just that.
…
When they’re done with the initial sketch, users can then use the computer to modify/touch up the image if they’re unsatisfied with it – something that’s harder to pull off on real paper, since you can’treally erase ink or resize parts of an image on whim.
The Wacom Inkling will be available in “mid-September” for $199.99, according to the company website.
