The season premiere of "Two and a Half Men" aired tonight at 9pm on CBS.  It introduced the Internet mogul Walden Schmidt, the shows newest character played by Ashton Kutcher. The long anticipated character replaces Charlie Harper, played by the controversial Charlie Sheen, who was fired from the show.

There was a debate on how the alcoholic, womanizing, irresponsible character (not straying too far from his real-life persona) would be phased off the show, and so it was that the premiere opened on his funeral. Old lovers and bookies were in attendance, showing their mixed emotions at the death of the notorious Charlie Harper who was killed by an oncoming train.

Celebrities such as John Stamos, Jenna Elfman and Thomas Gibson ("Criminal Minds") made cameos as potential buyers of the Harper beach house. But it was Kutcher who, after a failed romantic suicide attempt, befriended Alan and adopted some of Charlie’s womanizing ways, ended up buying the home. The show has a clean new slate and a fresh new cast without the boozing Charlie Sheen muddying up the waters. From the looks of the premier the show is nowhere near the end, and we’re in for a great season.
