THEATER TALK: Nick Jonas To Replace Daniel Radcliffe In "How to Succeed"

Nick Jonas has a surprisingly decent history with musical theatre. When he was a kid, he was in "Beauty and the Beast," "Les Miserables," and "Annie Get Your Gun" on Broadway. More recently, he has appeared as Link in "Hairspray" at the Hollywood Bowl and Marius in "Les Miz" on the West End in London. So it would seem he has some kind of "cred" in the musical theater world.
However, the Jonas Brothers are increasingly irrelevant, and many people (myself included) don't particularly care for them, their music or their vocal technique. Then again, Finch's role does not demand a great singer (see: Daniel Radcliffe and Robert Morse, who originated the role). Probably the most important factor in bringing Finch to life is likability, a quality Radcliffe and Criss both possess in spades. The JoBros are known for their loyal fan following, so hopefully Nick will be able to inspire that kind of devotion in the audience. Personally, I'm skeptical, but someone clearly has enough faith in him (and/or the buying power of his fans) to cast him in the role.
