Strauss-Kahn still faces possible charges in France.
Dominique Strauss-Kahn gave his first interview Sunday since his May 14th arrest for sexual assault. New York prosecutors dropped the charges last month. Appearing on France's TF1 television channel, Strauss-Kahn insisted that his interaction with a hotel maid was consensual. He did admit, however, that his actions were "inappropriate" and "an error," reports USA Today.

"I regret it infinitely," Strauss-Kahn said.

The former head of the International Monetary Fund still faces the threat of sexual assault charges in France. The threat of more charges stems from accusations surrounding an encounter with a French writer during an interview in 2003. Strauss-Kahn has dismissed the writer's accusations as "imaginary," according to the New York Times

Strauss-Kahn was formerly pegged as a potential presidential candidate for France's Socialist party before the sexual scandal broke.
