The first game of the Pac-12 conference was one for the ages. 

The contest that pitted the USC Trojans against the Utah Utes at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum proved to be more than an everyday football game. 

A 9/11 tribute and F-16 fighter jet flyover got the evening started, and a halftime appearance by perennial USC favorite Louis Zamperini put the crowd on its feet. 

USC won the first ever Pac-12 game, outscoring Utah 23-14.
