The Royal Couple Opening A Children's Cancer Center
Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, will open a children’s cancer center at the Royal Marsden Hospital later this month.
The couple will be taking over a charity once held by the late Princess Diana. Prince William was appointed as president of the London hospital back in 2007.
The royal couple’s office announced on Monday that William and Kate will visit the center on Sept. 29. The pair will be given a tour of the facility and meet with all the staff and patients. To officially open the center, William will unveil a plaque.
This endeavor marks the beginning of Kate’s soon-to-be ongoing immersion into charity work. Palace sources have confirmed to People that Kate is privately visiting numerous charities to figure out what causes she wants to pursue. “The Duchess is using the next few months to get to know a number of charitable and other causes better, so she can make well informed decisions about her future role,” according to People.
People adds, “The Duchess has a broad range of interests.” The causes Kate chooses to work with, “will be different to but complement her husband’s existing interests.”
We can only speculate what cause the princess will choose next!
