One of the most sought after celebrity stylists? Check. Star of her own reality TV show? Check. A frontrunner at this year’s New York fashion week? Check.

Powerhouse Rachel Zoe seems to be taking the fashion world by a storm and leaving a trail of glitter and glam behind her.

Zoe transitions effortlessly from stylist to designer and her collection is arguably one of the savviest seen this season. From Hollywood starlets to the girl next door, Zoe's collection can easily be taken from the glamorous New York runway to its equally chic streets.

In an interview with FABSUGARtv, the designer cited Brigitte Bardot meets the south of France as her inspiration for her Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Zoe’s own boho-free-spirited style is echoed in her presentation.

“I can’t ever design anything that I would not wear myself,” Zoe told People. “If I can’t see myself in it, or someone close to me in it, it doesn’t happen.”

In fact, Zoe was wearing a black chiffon maxi dress that was part of her own line during the debut of her collection.

The designer paired structured blazers with sheer tops and leather jackets with printed dresses in an effortlessly “Zoe” fashion. The collection covered the spectrum from statement jumpers to chiffon maxis to men’s style pantsuits.

There’s a variety of materials that range from mousseline to macramé, topped off with a healthy dose of sequins.

One of the most stunning pieces was a floor-length sequined black zebra gown with an open deep-V back.

It’s safe to say that Zoe’s inevitable transition from stylist to designer was no mistake. With retailers and editors in tow at her presentation last week, it’s just a matter of time before her collection hits stores.
