Nelson Mandela’s grandchildren will star in a reality show that will focus on their lives as mothers and career women, according to The Hollywood Reporter

"We’re definitely not the African Kardashians," said Dorothy Adjoa Amuah, 27, who works in the luxury brand market.

The show will follow Amuah and her two cousins. Zaziwe Dlamini-Manaway, 34, works for the family business, Mandela Dlamini Associates, and her sister Swati Dlamini, 32, started a foundation to address medical, educational and housing issues. Their cousins will also be part of the show, but their parents and grandparents will not be included.

"We are exposing Africa for what it is," said Amuah. “With a new middle class of intellectuals ... contributing to the economy."

The three women grew up in the United States, but came to South Africa for career opportunities and family reasons. The unscripted show, which will likely air in 2012, will not hurt the family’s historic reputation.

"They clearly have a great love [for each other]. This may be part storytelling, part reality, except the story we are telling is real ... it's not going to detract from the dignity of Nelson Mandela," said the unnamed show’s producer, Rick Leed.
