Jim Parsons won his second consecutive Emmy for lead actor in a comedy for his performance as the brilliant, socially incompetent physicist Sheldon Cooper on the hit CBS series, "The Big Bang Theory."

He also won the Golden Globe this past January for the role.

The 38-year-old star, who also played Cooper on an installment of Fox's animated series, "The Family Guy," has also appeared in series such as "Ed" and "Judging Amy."

Parsons "Big Bang" costar Johnny Galecki was also nominated for lead actor in a comedy.
