Exciting news for “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” fans: this morning, FX picked up a new animated comedy series from the show’s masterminds at RCG Productions.

“Unsupervised” (working title) follows Gary and Joel, two best friends who do their best to do the right thing and make it through the harshness of teen life—you guessed it—without parental supervision.

“"Unsupervised' is a great addition to our comedy roster and, like all our comedies, it’s smart and really funny,” said FX’s Executive Vice President, Nick Grad.

The voice cast includes “It’s Always Sunny” actress Kaitlin Olson, producers Rob Rosell and David Hornsby, as well as Justin Long, Kristen Bell, Alexa Vega, Romany Malco, and Fred Armisen.

The announcement comes at a great time for the series and the network: “It’s Always Sunny” premieres tonight at 10 p.m. on FX. “Unsupervised” is signed on for 13 episodes, and is slated for a January release, alongside FX’s “Archer.”
