Facebook surprised its users with a dramatic facelift likening itself to Google+ on Wednesday. Now, the social network site is looking to make even more changes soon. Many of these new changes have been announced this morning at the F8 developers conference in San Francisco.

Shortly after Google+ opened up to all users, Facebook unveiled its new news feed, improved friends list, subscribe button and news ticker.

Users are not too thrilled with some of the news changes--namely the news feed update--which decides for users the most "interesting" stories to feature at the top of the feed, according to Facebook's blog.

Mark Zuckerberg has announced at the F8 developers conference the next steps for Facebook are new media functions and apps.

From USA Today:

1:40 p.m.: Zuckerberg moving onto Facebook Apps and how they integrate into Timeline. They pop up as Timeline stories, like News Feed updates that appear when you or a friend uses an app. Facebook will add Reports, too. Zuckerberg uses a social cooking app as an example, to show the dishes he's cooked this month. It takes activity from apps and rolls them into a report.

1:38 p.m.: Users can adjust Timeline views by clicking on Tiles, so users can view Timelines through photos only, for example. There's also a Map option that details Timelines using maps.

Though Facebook said it intends to make it easier for users to keep up with other people in their lives, the changes might drop many users into the hands of Google+.

From Mashable:

It’s a relationship gone stale. After years of dating, the magic between Facebook and its users has dissipated. It’s a natural evolution in any relationship, but now there is another suitor vying for Facebook’s users. And a lot of people think this suitor is easy on the eyes.
