The $1,000 haircut by Rossano Ferretti has earned much talk around the globe, but you can now have it for $200.

The Rossano Ferretti Salon in Beverly Hills recently opened, making it the 18th international salon, and there is no hype about this place.
It looks like a picturesque European apartment decked out to the nines. Think of a contemporary space with black, white and sleek silver pieces of furniture.

In the center of the salon is a communal "coloring" table where the ladies are talking, sipping their cappuccinos and waiting for the color to settle in. There are no mirrors at the communal table because Rossano believes that a woman should only see the finished project of the art piece.

Upstairs of the salon is the private salon that feels more like a spa than anything. It is here where they apply the incredible Shu Uemura deep conditioning treatment ($75). It is the creme de la creme of conditioning treatments.

Now, let's get to the $1,000-question ($200 if you cut with any of the proteges). What justifies the price of this cut?

The method relies heavily on the natural fall of the hair. My stylist, Christian, seemed more like he was dancing and bobbing his head when he was cutting my hair. The method allows the designer to boast his best work and enhance the individual beauty of every client. I love the technique because it felt so natural and it flows very nicely.

The owner, who is usually in between his 19 stores, invented this cutting style, and created unique texturizing scissors that cut only 20 percent with each snip. The concept is a beautiful one that cuts "kiss" alters so that each strand of hair falls naturally. If you cut three inches, the hair seems longer.

The Rossano Ferretti Salon offers a unique and upscale experience. You can't go wrong with the haircut whether you are curly Sue or straight as a line.
