With such hits as “It’s the End of the World as We Know It” and “Nightswimming,” R.E.M. has made its mark on the musical landscape. Now, after more than 30 years together, and with their latest album “Collapse Into Now” garnering good reviews, the band has decided to call it quits. (EW)

Emily Deschanel, sister of Zooey and the star of the show “Bones,” gave birth to baby boy Henry yesterday. (People)

We’ve known who the new stars of the “Charlie’s Angels” reboot are for a while, but after some casting scuffling, Charlie himself has finally been cast. Victor Garber takes on the role; you might know him from Titanic or as the pervy professor in Legally Blonde. (Vulture)

“Glee” creator Ryan Murphy and Gwyneth Paltrow are set to reunite; not on the set of the TV series that launched Paltrow back into the media spotlight, but perhaps on the set of a musical film? The two are in talks over such a deal, which might also include the musically gifted Maya Rudolph. (E!)

There’s a new Scarface movie coming our way. While details over the new protagonist are under wraps, it’s worth noting that the iconic Al Pacino version of Scarface was in itself a remake. (Deadline)
