Christopher Bailey pulled out all the stops with his stunning use of color in his Spring 2012 Burberry Prorsum collection. With deep purples, shocking turquoises and rich navy blues, this is a collection every fashionista wants to wear this instant. One can tell it is a spring collection, but with classic sweaters, trenches and transitional colors, these clothes could be worn all year long. In-keeping with the spring trend of mixing textures, Bailey mixes broad stripes with a zigzag knit to form a sweater that is simple but unique. As always, the trenches are to-die-for. In rich blue leather, cinched with wide buckled belts, these coats are functional yet perfectly on trend with their African-inspired trim. His platforms, also adorned with beaded trim ankle-straps in many different colors, are the perfect shoe to spice up any basic outfit. His dresses are patterned with mixed-media geometric shapes, making for a grand statement in one piece.

For her 6th collection, Mary Katrantzou did not disappoint. It seems as if this season was a no-brainer for the reigning queen of mixed patterns and shocking colors. Architecturally interesting, her garments always have something hidden in their cut. She took to another level with her opening piece being a bright orange paint-spattered dress with one arm band and an uneven hem. Instead of looking busy, it feels of-the-moment and effortless. Katrantzou paints with every color under the sun in this collection including almost neon yellows, rich indigos, and startling floral fuchsias. This collection reads like wearable eye-candy hand-painted by a modern abstract expressionist artist. These gorgeous designs could be hung on a wall next to any Jackson Pollock. But of course, it would be much more fun to wear them on the streets of London and let the public view these designs in a real-world setting.

Although Erdem Moralioglu takes a more traditional approach to spring fashion, it doesn’t make his collection any less valuable or on point. Composed of mostly light blue florals and white eyelet, Erdem’s collection reads like a breath of fresh air amongst the other shockingly bright collections. His models wear no jewelry or accessories, only bright red pouts and matching floral pumps. Offering a dress for any occasion from a day shopping trip, to work, to a spring wedding, each piece feels fresh and easy. He does have a few standout pieces though that would need someone with a huge amount of confidence to pull off. This includes a light blue satin trench with flowers digitally printed on it and a bustier/short shorts combination in clashing floral prints.
