Betsey Johnson’s Spring 2012 show was performed today at 6:00pm EST. The entire show had a ‘party vibe.’ Betsey herself appeared to be drunk while she was being interviewed. She stated that her new line was inspired by her daughter Lulu, Nicki Minaj, and, yes, her new breast implants. Betsey laughed at the fact that this was her 69th runway show, and lead an ongoing discussion about her implants, how they make her look fat, and how "Nicki Minaj can pull them off, but not me!"

The actual show begins with a keyhole doorway, reminiscent of ‘Alice in Wonderland.’ Lulu, Betsey’s daughter, appears in the doorway first, strutting down the runway in a white, sheer maxi dress. The show continues in similar fashion, with an abundance of sheer white getups. Every model wears pink lipstick. When the sheer, flowing, white outfits disappear, out come pink pastels. The pinks turn to florals, which turn to baby blues and greens. The music changes, and the outfits are black and white, then red. Corsets abound, as well as tulip skirts, and, finally, sequins. Visible bras are a reoccurring theme…perhaps inspired by her new ‘accessories?' The show finishes with Betsey herself making an entrance, doing high kicks and splits.

Overall, the outfits range from the punky-vulgar (a floral corset dress with leopard brassiere) to the draped and beautiful (a white, sheet tunic with pink florals).

The nails were created by ‘Butter London’. Painted with black glitter, in a reverse half-moon, these nails were nothing subtle. ‘Button London’ added in a nail piercing of a safety clip to the tip of each index finger.

Sarah Lucero was in charge of the models’ makeup. The focus was a pink lip and glossy skin.

‘Stila’ was in charge of the hair. Inspired by Jerry Hall and all bombshell blondes, the models’ hair was sexy and curvy. A strip of pink hair extensions was added to each model’s head. The extension smelled of ‘TooToo’, Johnson’s newest fragrance. The scent will be released as an exclusive partnership with Sephora at the end of this month.
