A magnitude 4.3 earthquake rattled the greater Los Angeles area on Thursday afternoon. The quake struck about 1:47 p.m. about 24 miles north-northwest of Los Angeles in the Newhall area, according to the USGS.

"It was pretty widely felt," Caltech seismologist Dr. Kate Hutton told NBC LA. "I think that's the normal area of an earthquake to be felt of this size in California."

According to ABC 7, the earthquake was felt across the L.A. region, "including Long Beach, Woodland Hills and Burbank."

The earthquake was originally measured as a magnitude 4.2, but was later upgraded to a 4.3. A 3.0 aftershock struck the same area around 2:35pm.

So far there have been no reports of any damages or injuries.
