For the past week, LAPD officials have voiced their certainty they have the right man in jail for the brutal beating of San Francisco Giant’s fan Bryan Stow. Officials believe Giovanni Ramirez is one of the men responsible for what happened in the parking lot on the Los Angeles Dodgers opening night.

Ramirez and his defense team have also publicly shared their beliefs that police have the wrong man in jail. They say Ramirez has an alibi and his physical description the night of the beating does not match what he actually looked like that day. Police say he was bald but the defense says they have video that shows Ramirez had a head full of hair on the date of the crime.

On Friday, the daughter of Ramirez went before the media to insist her dad was at home at the time of the attack. “It’s not my dad, and I pretty much know it’s not him,” the girl said. “I am sad because he’s in jail.”

L.A. County prosecutors have yet to charge Ramirez. They are still waiting for more evidence including two lie-detector tests that were administered to Ramirez.
