Katie Couric’s New ABC Talk Show

The former "CBS Evening News" anchor has been rumored to be talking with NBC’s “Today” show, CNN and ABC.
According to TMZ, Couric will be given a daily talk-show and will also contribute to ABC news programs such as “20/20.”
Couric’s new daytime talk-show could replace the long-running soap opera “General Hospital.” ABC recently canceled “One Life to Live” and “All My Children,” which angered many dedicated soap fans. Lifestyle programs including "The Chew," a food show with rotating hosts including Mario Batali and Clinton Kelly, and "The Revolution," a lifestyle and weight-loss show led by Tim Gunn and celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak, have already been announced as replacements.
Can Couric’s show replace Oprah Winfrey’s as her season concludes this month? Not likely. ABC is likely to give local affiliates that extra hour (in other words, one more hour of local news).
CBS sources tell TMZ the network is still trying to negotiate with Couric and wants her to stay. Couric’s sources tell TMZ just the opposite. Couric is done with CBS and “left the network in the dust.”
