The child was born before Schwarzenegger’s bid for California governor and the staff member continued to work for the family for 20 years. In fact, she just retired this January. Shriver thought the baby’s dad was the staff member’s husband.

The revelation was the final straw for Shriver who moved out of the mansion they share several months ago. Recently, TMZ reported Shriver was tired of Schwarzenegger’s infidelities. 

Shriver released a statement to “People” magazine that read, "This is a painful and heartbreaking time. As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment."

On the positive side, after the recent press, Shriver has been offered many opportunities to come back to TV according to TMZ. Oprah Winfrey is pushing Shriver to have a show on the Oprah Winfrey Network. Also NBC, Shriver’s former employer, has expressed interest in working with the former California first lady.
