Royal Wedding: Comparisons, Details And Potential Problems
E! Online, just today, posted three stories. One on the differences between this Royal Wedding and the last, one about Kate's hair, and yet another about problems the couple may face before walking down the aisle.
While the two princes are different in a variety of ways and Middleton certainly lacks comparison to Princess Diana, many are comparing the Royal Weddings in terms of ratings. Originally, 3 billion were estimated to tune into the ceremony on Friday, April 29. Prince Charles and Princess Diana only scored 750 million.
Both are huge ratings, but the difference exists in percentage. 3 billion viewers is nearly half the Earth's population, yet 750 million was nearly 20% of the population at the time. More recent estimates believe 1-2 billion viewers is more realistic.
Another realistic approach to the wedding...Middleton's natural hairstyle. British hairstylist, Richard Ward revealed that Middleton's hair will be similar to the natural, beautiful hair she dons daily. Ward did her hair for the engagement pictures, for the past 8 years, and for many practice runs leading up to Friday.
And with millions, possibly billions watching Kate and her hair walk down the aisle, the royalty can only hope for the best. Extra security is already patrolling Westminster Abbey and the area.
Security takes their job seriously, especially after the Real IRA threatened Queen Elizabeth II. The protesters from Peace Strike have been camped out for 10 months already. Legally, they are allowed to stay, but have stated their claims peacefully.
The protesters make their points against taxes, war, and even the monarchy clear. They plan to support the wedding, but security is on high alert and is only expected to increase as the day comes closer.
