In her 11 seasons on “The Biggest Loser,” the trainer/fitness instructor/therapist has helped change the lives of ordinary people with her simple advice, “Eat less, move more.”

Interviewed by “Times” staff writer Rene Lynch, Michaels spoke to a packed, standing-room only crowd while promoting her new book, “Unlimited: How to Build an Exceptional Life.”

“You can do anything you want,” Michaels told the crowd regarding the advice found in her book. “People don’t recognize they are deserving.”

One of the biggest problems that get in the way of major success, according to Michaels, is fear. “It’s all about your attitude toward fear. It can lead to great transformation,” she said.
 
During audience question and answer, Michaels answered questions ranging from how to exercise after having a C-section, weight-loss during menopause and of course, “The Biggest Loser.”

She describes her relationship with trainer Bob Harper as a, “husband-wife, brother-sister type.” She updated us on season eight contestant Shay who has managed to lose between 250-300 pounds.

When asked why she was leaving the show, Michaels admitted, “I want to start a family. I’m also craving a direct relationship with people… and you can’t do that in primetime television.” She even hinted at a possible daytime talk show opportunity that could be announced in the coming weeks.

Between the honest questions from fans, encouraging responses from Michaels and surprise appearance and advice from Michael’s mom, the hour-long discussion flew by leaving the audience inspired and motivated.
