Known for his tattoo-inspired designs, (and for being spotted on tattoo covered fans) Ed Hardy is a well-known daywear designer. His clothing is often incredibly casual, including cotton leggings, sweatpants, hoodies and trucker hats. Shoes include tattooed and studded sneakers and wedges in blindingly bright hues. For fall 2011, however, a new era is making way. With his new line of neutrally colored shoes, Hardy is moving away from the fist pumps of the Atlantic shoreline and towards a more sophisticated conceptualization. His most recent line, while nothing gorgeous, is a far cry from the chartreuse and fuchsia days of the past.

The new line boasts six pairs of shoes, the most comfortable being a pair of ferra colored mid-calf Sherpa boots. The most true to Hardy’s signature style is a pair of army-green corset boots. This shoe has a corset-style lacing up the front, fold-over studded flaps at the top and an estimated four-inch heel. Somewhere in the middle lie another four pairs. The line contains a black heel with a small and comparatively inconspicuous pink tattoo rose at the toe, as well as a masculine brown ankle boot with a stiletto heel and a front pattern resembling gills. A denim heel with red lace ties and bow is also included in the mix, as well as, *gasp*, a plain black pair of pumps! This just goes to show that there is always some hope for everyone.
