Pia Toscano may’ve been booted off of “American Idol” this week, but she’s already got a record deal with Interscope Records (from Us Weekly).

Another Pita update! Toscano reportedly is seeing “Dancing With The Stars” pro Mark Ballas. The two were spotted out on a date in Los Anglees (from People).

In other “American Idol” news, season 7 finalist Jason Castro announced that he and his wife are expecting a daughter soon (from PopEater).

Michael Shannon (Funny Games, “Boardwalk Empire”) is to play a villain in Zack Snyder’s “Superman” reboot (from The Hollywood Reporter).

Chase Utley is eligible to play as the Dodgers take on the Mets in Game 3 of the National League Division Series. Major League Baseball chief baseball officer Joe Torre announced the suspension of Utley on Sunday following an aggressive slide into second base during Game 2 of the NLDS which broke the leg of Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada. Utley appealed the suspension and is available to play for the Dodgers pending a ruling.
