Determined to do all tasks and be the best at each, singers have become actresses, who have become chefs who have become soap opera stars. The newest craze? Celebrities turned fashion designers. Here are some of the best and the worst celebrity fashion lines.

The Great:

Elizabeth and James’ by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

Looking at the designs in the ‘Elizabeth and James’ line, one would never guess that it was celebrity-designed. Featuring clean, simple, well-made lines and quality fabrics, the garments look as though they have been created by a Parson’s graduate. Nonetheless, if any celebrity was to make beautiful garments, it would be both of the Olsen twins. Known for their offbeat style, the twins have been fashion moguls for years. The line is named after their older brother James, and younger sister Elizabeth. It is sold through major high-market retailers such as Neiman Marcus and shopbop.com, and seems to be growing in popularity.

Signature Collection’ by Nicky Hilton

Nicky Hilton’s signature line of jewelry is gorgeous. Featuring gunmetal gray pyramid studs and a triple-wrap snake ring, this line is sophisticated yet chic. The line even contains a double-finger ring, attached by a chain, and will soon be available on nickyhilton.com

The Bad:

6126 Collection’ by Lindsay Lohan

The opening headline of the ‘6126’ website quotes Marilyn Monroe’s line, "The body is meant to be seen, not covered up." Lohan’s clothing rings true to its motto with skin-tight lace bodysuits and leather deep-v onesies, which, somehow, are sold out. There are at least some redemptions to the line with a few classic dresses, including a bell-sleeved baby pink number, but the knee-pad adorned leggings brought back the line’s original stigma. At least we can say that Ms. Lohan knows her fan base.

Apple Bottoms’ by Nelly.

Where do I begin? From purple printed leggings to paint-spattered clam diggers, everything about this line is atrocious. The fabric is cheap, the embellishments overdone and the fit poor. Nelly did not make good choices when deciding on velour and logo hoops. Unless you love to look tired, this line is a miss.
