Legendary Hollywood screenwriter Joe Eszterhas, who penned the famous sexual-thriller films “Basic Instinct” and “Showgirls,” among many others, will have another film coming out soon.

“Lust,” following a beautiful woman on her path to infidelity, will be independently produced, continuing the construction to a canon of work that has defined a genre of film.

Eszterhas has worked as a journalist for “Rolling Stone,” a nonfiction author (nominated for the National Book Award) and a memoirist.

“Lust” marks a return into the film spotlight for Eszterhas as he’s been focusing on writing nonfiction and raising a family for several years.  Recently, he was diagnosed with throat cancer after years of cigarette smoking.

He has been paid millions of dollars for scripts in the past, and is one of the town’s most well-known screenwriters.

The film will be produced by Scott Steindorff and Stone Village Productions.
