Fey, 40, writes in her newly released memoir, Bossypants, that the decision to have a second child was far from easy. Fey recalls that when she couldn’t sleep she would "debate the second baby issue."

Fey and her husband, Jeff Richmond, have a 5-year old daughter, Alice, who would say "I wish I had a baby sister." In a excerpt of her memoir released to People magazine, Fey explained that she felt "stricken with guilt and panic" in reaction to her daughter’s statement.

A issue of having children is not uncommon amongst mothers everywhere, as the three-time Emmy Award winner revealed her struggle with the issue of work vs. family.

But Fey eventually overcame that issue, writing, "What’s so great about work anyway? Work won’t visit you when you’re old. Work won’t drive you to get a mammogram and take you out after for soup." This realization eased her decision to have a second child.

In the end, Fey wrote that that she recognized "It’s now or never. This decision can’t be delayed" and there you have it. The decision was made and Fey, now five months pregnant, will be having a second child towards the end of summer; now, Fey jokes, "Hollywood be damned. I’ll just be unemployable and labeled crazy in five years anyway."

Along with Fey, Jane Krakowski, another cast member of NBC’s 30 Rock, is also expecting. The actress is due at the end of this month with her first child with her fiancé, Robert Godley.

Look out NBC! Before you know it the 30 Rock set will be covered with baby diapers and toys.
