'30 Rock' Celebrates Its 100th Episode Tonight

In Tina Fey’s new memoir, Bossypants, she explains her decision to leave Saturday Night Live and to begin her career as not only an actress on, but also a writer and producer for 30 Rock. Five seasons later, the show will air its hour-long 100th episode tonight.
Alec Baldwin described tonight’s celebratory episode as “a bunch of greedy, horny, power-driven people trying to get what they want. That’s comedy.” The show attracts its audience with its own unique humor, and this episode will certainly not disappoint its fans.
While this episode is exciting for the whole cast, Fey has embarked on a journey of her own for the past two weeks. The actress and producer has been touring the nation with numerous talk-show appearances to promote her memoir, Bossypants. This may seem exciting enough for Fey, but the one topic Fey cannot go an interview without is her second pregnancy.
In her interview with Conan O’Brien on Tuesday night, O’Brien commented on Fey’s extra exposure in the media lately due to her second pregnancy. Fey and O’Brien’s conversation continued with a discussion the new technology since Fey’s first pregnancy, five years ago. “They have 3-D ultrasound…It’s horrifying. You see the 3-D ultrasound and it’s like, ‘Oh it’s a larva monster.’ It’s upsetting,” she explained. O’Brien agreed, admitting that when he saw the 3-D ultrasound of his second child it “looked like special effects from a monster movie.”
With all of this on the plate of the 30 Rock star, we cannot expect much more from the soon-to-be-even-busier mom. Baldwin jokingly asked Fey, “Can we get another 100?” She responded, “I think the four of us would drop dead!”
There you have it, 30 Rock will not hit 200 episodes, but don’t fret, the cast still has its sixth season in front of them and they will certainly not disappear in the media anytime soon. We will see plenty of Fey in the coming months with the continuous promotion of Bossypants and the news of the ‘larva monster’ growing inside of her.
Tune in on NBC tonight to celebrate 30 Rock’s 100th episode at 10/9c.
