Deporting the nearly 65,000 undocumented students that would have benefitted from the Dream Act, a measure rejected last December by the U.S. Senate, is an objective of immigration reform opponents.

Undocumented students have no where else to go. They know nothing about their country of origin. These are people who were raised as Americans and hardly given a choice in moving here, and should be absorbed into the U.S. where their productivity would greatly benefit the nation.

Many undocumented students consider themselves Americans without a legal status because they were brought to the country even before they spoke their first words. This is the case of Yuri Tobon, college student and activist, who did nothing wrong when she was brought to the U.S. at a young age. She bravely describes the hardships she and other undocumented students face.
