This is the second episode of our three-part video series on the March 8 Los Angeles primary election. Watch Part I here. Check in on March 9 for more coverage.
The Los Angeles City Council election is coming to a head on March 8. Stephen Box and Tomas O’Grady are both fighting to unseat incumbent Councilman Tom LaBonge in District 4. They are competing for votes in a wide area composed of Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Hollywood and Koreatown. The city they want to run is in an economic and fiscal crisis. The city's budget shortfall will be as high as $350 million for the next year, according to a March report.
Neon Tommy followed the campaign and volunteers behind Stephen Box's candidacy. Locals Josef Bray-Ali and Patrick Pascal, in their campaign efforts for Box, combined their passion for L.A. with their passion for bicycles.
