Public support for increased nuclear power use has declined amid the Japanese crisis. A survey conducted by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press on March 17-20 concluded that opposition for nuclear power use has increased over the years. Of the 1,004 adult surveyed, 52 percent said they opposed increased nuclear power usage, compared to the 44 percent in February 2008 and October 2010.
