Opening day is here. The Dodgers kick off their season against their heated rival, and now World Champion San Francisco Giants. ESPN Los Angeles has an interesting take on the rivalry: turns out the people up north take it a tad more serious.

  • The newly independent KCET is in talks to sell its studio to the Church of Scientology, the L.A. Times reports.
  • Radiation in our milk? Traces of radiation were found in milk samples in California and Washington, the Associated Press reported. But ... no cause for alarm, the levels are said to be much too low to worry: “5,000 times below levels of concern,” the article says.
  • And via Beverly HIlls Patch: Beverly Hills Unified School District is paying for a website and Facebook page dedicated to fighting for their preferred subway stop.
