Erotic massage parlors in Los Angeles? The Los Angeles Times says they are popping up in clusters around the city, especially in Eagle Rock. The problem, the paper says, stems from a lack of regulation by the city after a 2009 state law changed the rules governing the establishments.

  • Metro has been rolling out a feature found in most big city transportation networks lately. You can now load specific amounts of money onto your TAP card, as much or little as you want and have the fare deduct each time you ride. You can’t yet do it online, but the Source has a list of stations where the new feature is available. 
  • The 17-year-old boy who allegedly brought a gun to Gardena High School that accidentally discharged will be tried as a juvenile, the Daily Breeze reports. Two teenagers were wounded in the incident. 
  • The Daily News broke down the 1,000 layoff notices that have gone out in LAUSD. The number of educators would drop 15 percent.
