David Arquette was injured Friday after he smashed his car head-on into a vehicle going the opposite direction in Beverly Hills.

Arquette, 39, veered into oncoming traffic to avoid running into a car that stopped suddenly in front of him, according to TMZ.com.

The actor’s representatives said Arquette was fine, but taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after the accident, reported People.com.

Both drivers were the only people involved in the accident, and the other driver was also taken to the hospital.

"I got into a car accident but I'm fine. Luckily I have dragon's blood running through my veins,” Tweeted Arquette, playing off of Charlie Sheen's "tiger blood" saying.

Arquette was on his was to Burbank Airport to board a private jet headed for Las Vegas. He was supposed to attend a party hosted by Kim Kardashian and the opening of Sugar Factory, a candy store in the Paris Hotel, according to TMZ.com.

The accident, which occurred around 2 p.m., is being investigated, according to People.com.

Arquette, who separated from his wife Courtney Cox last year and recently completed a rehabilitation program, was driving a silver Cadillac.
