Riverside, San Bernardino Counties See Huge Growth, Census Confirms
Results for California from the 2010 U.S. Census released Tuesday show that Riverside's population increased 42 percent from 2000 to 2010 and San Bernardino County grew by nearly 20 percent. Their respective populations of three million and two million people put them behind Los Angeles, San Diego and Orange Counties.
The City of Los Angeles is estimated to have a population of 3.8 million while the County of L.A. had a population of 9.8 million.
The statewide population figure of 37.2 million was released in December. Tuesday's release includes tract, city and county breakdowns. The data also divides the population by income, race and gender.
