Tre Madden, a linebacker from Mission Viejo High in Orange County signed with USC Wednesday morning, the school confirmed.

The 6-foot, 215 pounder played on both sides of the ball for the Diablos, but he is expected to compete for early playing time on the Trojans' defense.

Madden is rated as a four-star recruit by Rivals and a three-star prospect by ESPN and Scout. Those same scouting services list him as the No. 6, No. 14 and No. 25 linebacker, respectively. Rivals also has him ranked as the No. 81 prospect overall.

Madden, who officially visited USC on January 8, chose the Trojans over Washington, Nebraska and Arizona State.
