The Pantages isn’t the only stop for the touring cast of "Spring Awakening" here in Los Angeles. On Wednesday night, the entire cast held a cabaret at the M Bar in Hollywood, the proceeds of which went to the Trevor Foundation, an organization devoted to bringing an end to suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth by offering 24 hour assistance and crisis intervention. Members of the cast performed a variety of songs ranging from musical theater classics to contemporary R&B.

The cast is currently performing at the Pantages Theater from Feb 8th-13th. "Spring Awakening" is a musical which takes place in Germany, 1891, that concerns teenagers coming to discover themselves and their sexuality. The show covers such topics as homosexuality, rape, masturbation, and child abuse while utilizing a very modern and rock score. While the show does handle mature themes it takes a realistic, and at times, humorous approach to exploring these issues which every adolescent experiences.

"Spring Awakening" has received numerous awards including eight Tony Awards during its initial Broadway run and will continue their national tour through May 15th. To get tickets go to springawakening.com.
