Having started to gain popularity on YouTube a couple of years ago, Boyce Avenue, a Florida originated band, rocked out to a packed Roxy Theatre Thursday night in West Hollywood.

This concert, which marks Boyce Avenue's second visit to Los Angeles, was refreshing and immensely entertaining to say the least. Their set-list, which includes a variety of their original songs as well as amazingly executed covers, was done with such balance, that they kept the crowd engaged and emotional at all the right moments.

Alejandro, Fabian, and Daniel Manzano were the definition of charismatic in both their music and their attitude toward the audience.

Though the venue was intimate and small in size, the performance was done with the enthusiasm that would normally fill up a grand stadium.

Giving a very interactive performance that was more than well received by the night crowd, Boyce Avenue definitely lived up to the high expectations that their amazing YouTube videos set.

Alejandro, lead singer and guitarist of the band, was not only charming but also manipulative in being able to gauge the audience’s excitement and maximize the pleasure of the show. Playing fan favorites such as “On my Way” and “Find Me” when inquiring about the audience’s Valentines Day adventures, the songs were particularly well received by both the couples and singles in the room.

Fabian and Daniel were perfect in their support role as backup vocals, bass, and percussion. Together, the three brothers were able to capture the feel of old classic rock that has been missing from the recent phenomenon and craze about pop music.

With the increase of the use of auto-tune and lip-syncing, it is truly refreshing to still see bands that are, at its core, based off of talents and genuine musicality. As long as bands like Boyce Avenue exist, with people who are musicians first and entrepreneurs second, people will continue to support and be inspired by music.
