Police and anti-government protesters butt heads in Benghazi, Libya Wednesday, leading to several arrests, CNN reports.

The demonstrators, inspired by protests in Tunisia and Egypt, protested against the country's leader and showed their support for Fathi Terbil, a lawyer and human rights activist who had been detained.

According to CNN, Government officials don't seem too concerned with the protests:

But Libya -- ruled by Moammar Gadhafi since 1969 -- is not Egypt, said a highly placed Libyan source close to the government who asked not to be identified because he was not authorized to talk to the media.

"There is nothing serious here," he said. "These are just young people fighting each other."

A "day of rage" rally, organized by Libyan opposition leaders on Facebook, has been called for Thursday.
