Jesse Eisenberg who portrayed Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in "The Social Network" star lost the best actor award to Colin Firth of "The King's Speech."

A New York native, born in 1983, Eisenberg made his acting debut with his Broadway performance in Tennessee Williams' "Summer and Smoke" at the age of 13. His first role in film was in the independent comedy "Roger Dodger."

Working with renowned directors such as M. Night Shyamalan in "Village," Eisenberg began trading smaller independent roles for ones with larger film studios. He received positive reviews and his first several award nominations, including Best Supporting Male in Independent Spirit Awards, for his performance in the funky coming- of- age film "The Squid and the Whale" (2005). Eisenberg began racking in roles for major blockbusters such as playing as Kristen Stewart's summer fling James Brennan in "Adventureland." He scored "Breakout Male" in the Teen Choice Awards in 2009 for his performance as Columbus in "Zombieland."

Yet, Eisenberg's biggest break into the film industry was in director David Fincher's drama "The Social Network" as the famous youngest billionaire and founder for Facebook Mark Zuckerberg. Eisenberg has been Nominated for Best Leading Male Actor for the 83rd Academy Awards as a contester against stars in true-story based films as well, such as Colin Firth in "King's Speech" and James Franco in "127 hours."

He recently won the National Board of Review Award for Best Actor and replied "It's a lot of pressure." Eisenberg has received several nominations for Best Actor for the BAFTA Awards, Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards, and the Golden Globes. Eisenberg also hosted "Saturday Night Live" with musical star Nicki Minaj in January.
