The Grammys are known for edgy, avant-garde fashion, and this year was certainly no exception. The best in music lined up the red carpet at the Staples Center to celebrate their peers' musical achievements, but once again, award shows also always prove to be fabulous opportunities to recognize au courant celebrities.
Of course, the most outrageous outfit - not that it could even really be called an outfit - goes to the always scandalous Lady Gaga. Newcomer Nicki Minaj also showed up in an extreme animal print ensemble, evolving into one of the most consistently over-the-top fashionistas out there. The most overwhelming trend for the evening was gold and bronze dresses, such Kim Kardashian, Miranda Lambert or Selena Gomez's flashy frocks. Neon Tommy's Entertainment Editors discuss who hit the mark and who will end up on the worst dress pile after this year's Grammys.

Florence Welch – Givenchy Haute Couture swan-motif ivory dress with red embroidery.

Piya: The color works fabulously on Florence, and she looks positively stunning and Amazonian.

Nicole: She looks great. The detailing on the dress works fantastically on her. Such a fan.

Kelly Osbourne – Tadashi Shoji purple one-shouldered ruffled dress, Tres Glamz jewelry.
Piya: Not a fan of this look, the color washes her out, and her hair distracts.
Nicole: Not sure how she can be on Fashion Police when she’s wearing a dress like this. The ruffles, one shouldered style and color don’t mesh well.
Miranda Lambert - Edition by George Chakra gold one-shouldered dress with cutout details.
Piya: Gold seems to be the color of the night!
Nicole: Love Miranda. Always plays it classy but glamorous.
Nicki Minaj – Givenchy leopard print dress with peplum skirt and pockets.
Piya: R.I.D.I.C.U.L.O.U.S.
Nicole: All I can say is that she takes the animal print trend from this season to a whole new level.
Ciara - Blue and white Emilio Pucci print dress with cutouts and thigh-high slit, Givenchy heels, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.
Piya: I love her simple hair and her Givenchy black heels, and her dress is gorgeous.
Nicole: Love the dress- the almost bohemian bust detailing and the feminine floral patterning. I think the shoes make the look super modern and edgy as
well.
Jennifer Hudson - Versace corseted navy blue dress with silver detailing (and a very revealing v-neck!), Neil Lane jewels, Louboutin heels.
Piya: J-Hud looks stunning, and the dress is a gorgeous choice. Would have loved more color on her though.
Nicole: I am such a fan of her. I think she looks fabulous and the overall look was very fitting.
Selena Gomez - J.Mendel pale gold v-neck fitted dress, Brian Atwood heels, Judith Leiber clutch, Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
Piya: Beautiful color, and love her simple hair and makeup.
Nicole: She looked so stunning. The dress was chic, age-appropriate and still glamorous. I was also impressed by how well spoken she is.
LeAnn Rimes - Reem Acra gold sequinned draped dress.
Piya: Going with the golden theme of the night, LeAnn picks a great dress but fails to accessorize it properly.
Nicole: Not sure what I think about the sequins and the draping combined, but it does look phenomenal on her.
Jordin Sparks - Zang Toi red strapless gown with flowing skirt and pink panels, De Beers diamonds.
Piya: Not my favourite dress unfortunately, although she looks pretty. The dress doesn’t fit quite right, and the color is a little too monotone.
Nicole: She looks all right but the red was too much for the silhouette of the dress.
Julianne Hough - Catherine Malandrino floral printed pink/black dress, Jimmy Choo shoes.
Piya: I love the romantic feel of the dress, it’s very spring and valentine’s-day ready.
Nicole: I think she looks stunning. It fits with the very feminine, frilly spring trends.
Hayley Williams - Jeremy Scott sheer black sequinned sleeveless dress with bright pink feathered skirt.
Piya: Poor Hayley, she never really gets it quite right. It’s an odd mix of rock meets girly, and it ain’t pretty.
Nicole: Not a fan of this, but somehow Hayley can just make it work for her image.
Amber Riley - Ema Savahl black fitted dress with painted glitter details, and a gold necklace/sleeve.
Piya: Amber, we love you, but this dress just looks uncomfortable.
Nicole: The dress isn’t bad, but the dress- necklace combo just isn’t working.
Dianna Agron - Vivienne Westwood Gold Label black strapless draped dress, House of Lavande jewelry.
Piya: Effortless chic, and that Vivienne Westwood dress looks gorgeous on anyone.
Nicole: Like at previous award shows, Agron shows up in a chic all black ensemble. No complaints from him.
Kim Kardashian - Kaufmann Franco bronze sequinned v-neck dress, Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
Piya: Typical glamorous Kim, the dress hugs all her curves and she looks incredible. For a girl with little musical talent, she certainly steals the show in her outfits.
Nicole: Once again, Kim struts her stuff in a form fitting sequined dress. The color choice showing that gold and bronze seem to be the colors of the night.
Miley Cyrus - Roberto Cavalli fitted Gold/black zebra print dress, Sergio Rossi heels, Lorraine Schwartz and Ofira jewelry.
Piya: Dislike. The dress, the over-applied makeup and the ugly tattoos put Miley in the worst-dressed pile.
Nicole: I don’t know what she was thinking. The dress was definitely in bad taste- especially the way the silhouette was cut on the side.
Nicole Kidman - Jean Paul Gaultier strapless netted dress with dark red floral details and ruffled fishtail hem.
Piya: I love this dress, it’s chic and Nicole looks stunning.
Nicole: Nicole’s dress is a perfect fit for the Grammy’s, and I honestly like it much more than her Globe’s or SAG Awards dresses.
Katy Perry - Giorgio Armani Swarovski-encrusted silver and ivory dress with angel wings (Armani dressed Katy, her grandma and Russell), Casadei heels, Thomas Sabo jewelry.
Piya: Despite the outrageousness, I’m a big Katy fan and I love her outfits as she has fun (unlike Gaga, who’s just mad).
Nicole: Not really sure what was going on on the back of the dress, but Katy definitely does know how to enjoy her red carpet looks.
Rihanna - Jean Paul Gaultier white ruffled dress with sheer panels (quite revealing), Louboutin heels.
Piya: Very chic even though it’s revealing, and her hair looks great, definitely a gorgeous look.
Nicole: I definitely love Rihanna and Jean Paul Gaultier is phenomenal but I’m not really a fun of this dress.
Jewel: Pamella Roland pale yellow one-shouldered grecian-style dress (covering her pregnancy bump).
Piya: Love the color, and she looks radiant.
Nicole: Love the one-shoulder mixed with the color.
