Gov. Walker Duped By Fake "David Koch"
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker took a call Tuesday from someone he thought was billionaire David Koch. In fact, "Koch" was Ian Murphy, the editor of the Buffalo Beast.
Murphy decided to pose as Koch after hearing that Walker was refusing to talk to anybody. After calling the number on governor's website a number of times, Murphy finally got through to the governor's executive assistant, then to his chief of staff and finally to the governor himself.
"I couldn't believe it was that easy. Or why they wouldn't check around or something in between my calls. Or be competent. Or just not completely stupid. I blame it on the cheeseheads," Murphy told Mother Jones about whether or not he though he would get through to Walker.
Though much of the 20-minute conversation wasn't particularly damaging, Walker did mention he would take "Koch" up on his offer on a trip to California. Walker also bashed MSNBC, saying that he only likes to appear on shows like Morning Joe because he likes to be combative.
