Islamist leader Doku Umarov, self-proclaimed Emir of the Caucasus Emirate, a breakaway muslim state in the Northern Caucasus region, claimed responsibility Monday for a bombing in Moscow's Domodedovo International Airport, which killed more than 30 people and left more than 150 injured.

Umarov appeared in a video on the Islamist website KavkazCenter.com, which was reportedly made on January 24, the day of the attack. In the video, Umarov said such attacks will continue in the future.

"The special operation today in Moscow...was carried out on my orders," Umarov said in Russian, while dressed in combat fatigues. "These special operations will continue...to show the chauvinist regime of Putin in Moscow...that we can carry out these operations where we want and when we want."

Umarov also appeared on video last Saturday with two men, claiming there would be more attacks on Russia in the future if they did not abandon the Northern Caucasus region. According to Umarov, one of the men was headed to Moscow for another attack.

Russian officials said the suicide bomber who attacked the international arrivals hall at Moscow's busiest airport was a 20-year-old man from the Caucasus region, but no word of who organized the attack had come before Umarov's statement.
