The nominations for the 83rd Academy Awards were announced early Tuesday morning at the Academy headquarters in Beverly Hills. Last year's Best Supporting Actress winner Mo'Nique joined Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak to announce the nominees for this year's Academy Awards.

"The King's Speech" leads the way with 12 nominations, while the Coen brothers' "True Grit" has 10 nominations and "The Social Network" and "Inception" follow with 8 nominations. The big surprise of the day was the acknowledgement of "True Grit," which failed to receive any Golden Globes nominations. Hailee Steinfeld, the young starlet in "True Grit" is also the 9th youngest nominee for the Best Supporting Actress category. Best Actor nominee James Franco will also be hosting the 83rd Academy Awards along with Anne Hathaway on February 27.

See below for the nominees for best actor in a leading role, best actress in a leading role, best supporting actor, best supporting actress, best director and best picture.
