L.A. Today: City Budget, Subway And More

Public meetings will roll west of Koreatown beginning today to discuss the planned arrival of the subway into those neighborhoods. However, one source of funding for the project could be in danger as Republicans seeks to slash spending, the Source says.
Also, several more developments on the transportation front from last week: L.A. drops in traffic delays, and it’s now possible to load a specific dollar amount onto your Metro TAP card (well, at least at one machine at Union Station).
Finally, former USC player Stafon Johnson is suing the school over a weightlifting accident in 2009, KABC-TV says. A press conference is scheduled for this afternoon.
