Jerry Brown's Approval Rating Below 50%

While Jerry Brown’s approval ratings register below 50% according to a new study by the Public Policy Institute of California, a majority of Californians support key elements of his budget plan.  Among the findings from like voters:

 

• 47% approve of Brown, 20% disapprove and 33% don’t know

• 62% would pay higher taxes to maintain K-12 funding

• 51% would pay higher taxes for funding of higher education

• 46% would pay higher taxes for health and human services funding

• 68% disapprove of the state legislature

• 54% would vote in favor of extending tax and fee increases
