Gabrielle Giffords Set To Leave Arizona Hospital Friday For Houston
Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is expected to be released from the hospital Friday, a little less than two weeks after she was rushed in for a gunshot wound to the head, Politico reports.
Though it is not confirmed where she will go, Houston’s Institute for Rehabilitation and Research at Memorial Hermann hospital, a facilty that specializes in aiding people recovering from brain injuries, would be a logical place for her, Houston's KTRK reports.
Giffords has been at University Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz. since she was shot in the head during a rampage at a "Congress on Your Corner" event in Tucson Jan. 8. The shooting spree left six people dead, including a 9-year-old girl and a federal judge.
