Excitement isn't something often found at ARCO Arena this season.

The Sacramento Kings are 6-23 (the worst record in the NBA) and have endured some brutal last-minute losses recently (including a 16-point meltdown against the Golden State Warriors).

They've been struggling both on and off the court.

With that in mind, sophomore guard Tyreke Evans provided some much-needed fireworks Wednesday night, hitting a 48-foot heave at the buzzer to give the Kings a 100-98 win (see video below).

'Reke's game-winner followed closely on the heels of another fantastic shot, a long jumper from O.J. Mayo with a defender in his face that put Memphis ahead 98-97.

However, rookie DeMarcus Cousins wisely in-bounded the ball quickly with 1.5 seconds left in the game, catching the Grizzlies off guard (they were expecting a Kings timeout). Evans took care of the rest.

The reigning Rookie of the Year finished the game with 21 points and 4 assists, but the last-second hail mary toss was by far his best contribution to the game.

It was a shot that won't soon be forgotten in Sactown.

Assist, Sactown Royalty.
