Republican Leader McConnell Calls WikiLeaks' Assange A "High-Tech Terrorist"
Add "high-tech terrorist" to the list of nicknames WikiLeaks' founder Julian Assange has garnered this week.
On NBC's "Meet the Press," Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell called for Assange to be prosecuted for the gradual release of more than 250,000 secret diplomatic cables just a week ago. Only a small fraction of the cables, which have caused great embarrassment for the U.S., have been made available for download so far.
“I think the man is a high tech terrorist,” he said. “He has done enormous damage to our country and I think he needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And if that becomes a problem, we need to change the law.”
