The United States continues to downplay the significance of WikiLeaks, but that hasn't stopped pundits from reacting. Critics of WikiLeaks and its founder, Julian Assange, argue Assange has not only committed espionage but maintains extremely short-sighted goals.

Here are a few of the latest pieces that are getting a lot of attention:

The Washington Times: “International Subversive.” Arnaud de Borchgrave writes WikiLeaks leak-meister is a confirmed anti-American leftist.

The Wall Street Journal: "Prosecute Assange Under the Espionage Act.” Dianne Feinstein argues Assange continues to violate is the Espionage Act of 1917.

Dayton Daily News: “3 ways WikiLeaks have done major damage.” Charles Krauthammer lays out the major ways WikiLeaks has done damage.

The New York Times: "The Ambitions of Julian Assange.” Ross Douthat argues Assange’s attempts at sabotage are short-sighted and will have less impact than anarchists hope.

TIME: “Wikileaks.” Joe Klein contends Assange is a criminal.

The New Yorker “Leaks.” Steve Coll claims WikiLeaks lacks ethical culture that is consonant with ideals of free media.
