Love is in the air! Two new couples have surfaced into the media spotlight: Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal were spotted together in Brooklyn, while Kim Kardashian and Gabriel Aubry have were together in Los Angeles on Thanksgiving.

Swift and Gyllenhaal were photographed taking a romantic stroll through Park Slope in Brooklyn, where Jake’s sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal lives. The two have been dating for five weeks, including multiple coffee dates together.

“It’s definitely serious. She loves his family and he loves her,” a source says.

Kardashian and Aubry started casually dating in New York City while Kardashian was filming her reality show. They were first seen publicly at a Laker’s game.

Aubry spent the holiday with the Kardashian-Jenner clan, and later that night, the two were seen at the ArcLight Cinemas.

Kris Jenner says that the two are “just friends,” and a source claims, “She had planned on being totally single for the entire year, but then he came along. She likes him a lot, but doesn’t want to rush things along too quickly.”

Johnny Depp is back on the media scene promoting his newest movie, “The Tourist.” Depp is on the cover of the latest Vanity Fair issue and talked about working with his co-star, Angelina Jolie.

“Meeting her and getting to know her was a real pleasant surprise. You don’t know what she might be like--- if she has any sense of humor at all. I was so pleased to find that she is incredibly normal, and has a wonderfully kind of dark, perverse sense of humor,” Depp said.

The actor explained the constant media attention and scrutiny that he and Jolie faced, and described the paparazzi lifestyle as “ludicrous.” Depp and Jolie were forced to be discreet while filming, and even had to avoid talking to each other in public to stray away from “unwarranted speculation.”

Depp also talked about his role as Captain Jack Sparrow, his early interests in a music career, his thoughts about being born in the wrong era, and his desire to play the role of Hamlet.

The holiday season has arrived and Peter Billingsley has announced that he is signed as executive producer for the musical adaptation “A Christmas Story.”

Billingsley starred as Ralphie Parker in the 1983 film. “A Christmas Story” is a classic holiday film and airs every year on Christmas Eve on TBS.

“’A Christmas Story’ has always meant a lot to me personally,” Billingsley said. “I’m excited to bring this film to the stage because the story and the characters lend themselves so well to the world of musicals."

The film is based on the short stories of Jean Shepherd and already includes a score from Broadway composers Benj Paske and Justin Paul.

Billingsley has already produced many films, including “The Breakup” and “Four Christmases,” and also directed the movie “Couples Retreat.”

The Broadway musical, “Spider-Man, Turn off the Dark,” had its first preview performance, which generated much media attention, including a “behind-the-scenes” piece on “60 minutes.”

The additional coverage was somewhat negative. Reports mostly focused on the technical problems that delayed the performance, including five mid-performance stops and a 40-minute intermission.

Yet, the media attention actually benefited the show, and producers say that the show has earned $1 million in advance ticket sales.

Show producers are having trouble marketing the show since it is a rare combination of  musical theater, rock, and circus spectacle. The media frenzy has helped show ticket buyers what to expect from the show.

The musical’s opening night is scheduled for Jan. 11.

Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong is heading back to “American Idiot,” the Broadway show, next year.

The musical is based on Green Day’s same-titled album, “American Idiot.” The rocker is the lyricist and co-book writer of the musical, and will take on the role of St. Jimmy, a “punky” alter ego.

Armstrong will perform in 50 shows throughout January and February. Usually, the Broadway box office experiences an annual downturn after the holidays, and Armstrong’s role has been reprised in an effort to spike sales.
